Announcing “The Elemental”
A brand new camera line! The Elemental Model Land Camera
functionally, differing only in name. The Automatic Model 100, Polaroid’s first folding pack camera, the camera all other folding pack cameras were based upon. We thought it only fitting to give it an update with our now famous rechargeable battery system.
The Model 240, identical in every way to the 100, was released in 1967 as a companion to the model 250. Differentiated from the higher end model in color and viewfinder/rangefinder style.
Originally released in 1963, the model 100 was groundbreaking in many respects. With its high quality 3 element glass lens, the ability to use both color and B/W films and a revolutionary automatic exposure system.
The model 100 is the first true instant ‘point and shoot’ camera, defining the genre and arguably never equaled to this day. While the small point and shoot camera was starting to gain popularity, the vast majority of these simple cameras of this era required the photographer to use an external exposure meter, setting the camera manually. Incredibly advanced for its day, the electronics are magnificently simple and robust. For the first time a recreational photographer could Point, Shoot and have a very high quality photograph in hand within minutes. Truly a revolution worthy of a LandCameras.com rebirth.
Not only are we excited to re-release the Model 100 as The Elemental we are ecstatic to announce the pricing. Unlike the highly coveted Model 250 which commands a higher price on the used market we are able to offer The Elemental at an astounding $175.00! The package comes complete with battery, charger and all the fit and finish you’ve come to expect from LandCameras.com.
If you prefer the single window Zeiss-Ikon viewfinder on your camera we offer the upgrade starting at $30.00. Also available is our x-sync flash upgrade option – We’ll make your Elemental compatible with electronic flash units! Upgrades start at just $50.00!
