The Choices

You will see several options above, below are the prices and explanation of each. Expect us to ship your camera back to you within 2 weeks of receiving it from you.

Upgrade Options

Bellows Replacement: $75 This is for those cameras that have separated or damaged bellows. Depending on the model and condition we may either swap out the entire body or simply replace the bellows on your camera. When you choose bellows replacement, basic detail and cleaning is included in the price.  This option applies to all cameras, including the professional models.

Rechargeable Battery Upgrade: $65 This option provides for the addition of our rechargeable battery system in your camera. The battery box will be prepared and cleaned, then installed with a new battery. Also included is a new manual detailing best practices and care for the battery. Charger included.

X-Sync and Rechargeable upgrade: $130 In addition to the battery, we will alter the timing for any flash you choose to use. From here out, you may use an electronic flash unit at higher shutter speeds without light being cut-off. We also install a ‘Cold-Shoe’ on top of your camera so that you may mount your flash. We also include a ‘Hot-Shoe’ to interface with with the sync port on the front of your camera. After we get done with your camera it will be the same as our “Deluxe Model”. This upgrade includes a full cleaning and restoration service.

Additional Upgrades

Replace electronic film back: $35 Some later models starting at the 300 series cameras came with electronic film timers embedded in the door of the camera. This time took an additional battery that is identical to the 3.v battery that operates the camera itself. This didn’t present a problem until later, when Fuji film started producing film for these cameras. The Fuji pack is just slightly thicker than the original Polaroid packs, making it difficult to pull film out after an exposure. Luckily the film backs and bodies are interchangeable. If you’re having issues with your later model camera and the electronic timer pinching Fuji brand films, we can replace the film back for you.

Large or small Zeiss-Ikon viewfinders: $35 / $30 Some early models of the Automatic 250 came with a slightly larger cutout for the viewfinder port. If you’d like us to replace this for you, we can add this to your upgrade order. Conversely, we can also change the viewfinder to  the smaller viewport. These rangefinders are all interchangeable. For example the Automatic model 100 had the highly accurate two window viewfinder, if you’d like to have the single window Zeiss-ikon version installed it can be simply replaced.

Other Restore Services

Cleaning and Restoration: $35 When we perform the Rechargeable Battery Upgrade, we do not include any restoration services beyond the battery box. If you’d like your camera to be fully restored and upgraded to the level of our “Standard Model” add this to your order. When you get your camera back it will be the same as the cameras we sell here.
